The Orange Forest Orator Editorial Forehead

OP-ED By Editor-in-Chief Maximilien Subabillian

In lieu of the Orator’s typical Editorial Forehead column, I thought it would be incumbent upon me to expound upon myself and indulge you in my privileged pedigree, unassailable education, and extensive worldwide travels. For I am Maximilien Subabillian, the hand-selected Editor-In-Chief of the Orange Forest Orator Quarterly.

I depart from a successful tenure as Assistant Cartographical Editor at Measuring Treasures, where I received the prestigious Ortelius Orbis Award for my considerable contributions to captioning maps appearing in the magazine. In that admirable role, I established an extensive network of experts and other veteran industry insiders who welcomed me into the publication business and nurtured my professional growth.

It was at this point in my career that I received an offer to take the title of Editor-In-Chief of the Orator. I will admit that I had never read or heard of the paper beforehand, but I could not refuse the opportunity to lead a newsroom.

Emboldened by the offer, driven by destiny, and fueled by fate, I departed from my distinguished role to become the Editor-In-Chief of this publication. With my profligate charm and urbane sophistication, I trust in my abilities to implement the rapid and robust growth measures that ensure long-term success for the Orator.

I will be the first to admit that the herculean task set before me might seem like the definition of a fool’s errand, but rest assured, Maximilien Subabillian is no fool.

From the city’s centenary to this publication’s Diamond Jubilee, there’s a lot on the agenda already, but we have even more splendorous surprises in store as well. We’ve invested in creating the very first online home for the Orator, a major step forward in modernizing this admittedly antiquated news outlet. Now, thanks to the World Wide Web, readers can access Orange Forest Online for breaking news, hard-hitting investigative journalism, and their favorite columnists, along with select Orator archives, including Pulitzer-Prize-winning work from everybody’s favorite, Elisabeth “Betsy” Embers.

Although the Orator has recently been the fortunate recipient of a benefactor’s largesse, this generosity will not influence this outlet’s journalistic integrity. The Orator will uphold the same standards and ensure that no story goes untold and no truth gets twisted. As always, the Orator will remain ever steadfast in its defense of free speech and unwavering stance against censorship.

Now, more than ever, our beloved media institutions need a steady hand at the helm to brave the turbulent storms rocking the public’s trust. My hands have never been steadier, my intentions have never been more noble, and I assure our readers that the Orator will remain the voice of the people, for the people, and by the people.
