Nepheline Middle School is holding a walkathon fundraiser with an $8,999 goal to purchase its first walk-through metal detector. Schoolchildren recently cheered when the Grand Bonaparte of the Grande Armée of Fraternal Forester Executives donated a ceramic oversized check for $100 made out to the school. The ceramic check was conceived and realized by an award-winning international brainstorming and ideation firm. Following a $5,500,000 appraisal, the oversized ceramic check, now recognized by experts as an important contribution to Conceptional Realization, will be on public display when the Nepheline students participate in their 48-hour “Walkathon for a Walkthrough” around the school building on January 25th and 26th. As soon as the students finish the walkathon, the ceramic check will go into permanent display at the school’s main entrance. Be sure to contribute to the fundraiser so the school can reach its goal of purchasing the metal detector that will keep such a valuable piece of Conceptional Realization safe.

Orangeforesters are strongly encouraged to bring any and all types of bioglass in their possession, including but not limited to bioglass from household debris, garbage bins, skin flakes, personal collections, ear or nose shatterings, cellular spiderwebbing, limb brittling, or any other reason for possession. The recycled materials will be used to supply fishbowls for the “Gold for the Homeless” initiative that provides a low-cost goldfish in a fishbowl for the city’s growing unhoused population.
